Fading date

A fading date in the diary of a month,
Twinkled a spark, sustained the memory of a day.
A date etched in the mind, reluctant to be wiped away.
A decade it remained, a stone before lashing waves.
Never to be neglected, never to be erased.

Memories have passed, faces forgotten,

Friends lost while life pursued.
Time limitless, buzzing activities,
Relations made, promises broken.
Love reclined, to a subtle corner
Never to be bothered, never to be remembered.

A date forbade, to close on the reminiscences,

Of a forgone age, a forgotten era.
Key to open, a space vast,
Only bridge, to cross over.
A link from the bygone
Weaving threads to the past
Never to be broken, never to be alone.
